Cheaper texting rates already apply, 20 percent off since November 30

Interaksyon.com reports that the National Telecommunications Commission "reminded service providers Wednesday (November 30) to lower their text messaging rates, saying it had been receiving reports that consumers continued to be charged P1 for sending messages to other networks."

Interaksyon.com reports that the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) "reminded service providers Wednesday (November 30) to lower their text messaging rates, saying it had been receiving reports that consumers continued to be charged P1 for sending messages to other networks."

 

The report pointed out that the rate for sending text messages to another network is supposed to go down to P0.80 starting November 30. The NTC has also interconnection charges from P0.35 to P0.15.
