P-Noy reportedly "getting impatient" over slow pace of RH Bill debates

Philstar.com, citing House Speaker Feliciano "Sonny" Belmonte Jr., reports that President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III is "already getting impatient for the passage of the Reproductive Health (RH) bill in Congress."

According to Belmonte, the president had asked about the status of House Bill 4244-which is also known as the Responsible Parenthood, Reproductive Health and Population and Development Act of 2011-when they were at the 1st National Criminal Justice Summit held at the Manila Hotel on Monday, December 5.

Belmonte said he told the president that "the House of Representatives was aiming to put the measure to a vote before the end of the year." However, Belmonte also said that "there are still a lot of people [who want] to ask questions (on the floor)."With just three days to go before Congress goes on a break, it looks like the bill will once again be stalled.

For the record, Philstar.com noted that the measure has been "filed, refiled, and debated on in Congress for the past 12 years."
