Healthy living may prolong lives, but that doesn’t really seem to be the case with Eusebia "Lola Ebeng" de los Santos who turned 101 years old last December 14.
Balitang America wrote a feature about De los Santos and learned that she "has loved tobacco since she was teenager." The report noted: "To this day, she is chain-smokes, with the lit end inside her mouth. She also loves to gamble, playing cards is her favorite pasttime."
Though her habits are tagged as vices, De los Santos theorizes that they’re also probably the reason why she’s lived this long. They help her "relax and enjoy life." She also said it was important to "live life with no regrets."
Balitang America revealed that De los Santos was "born and raised in Nueva Ecija, Lola Ebeng was married to Florencio, a World War II veteran, and she bore him eight children." They moved to San Francisco Bay Area in 1971. Unfortunately, De los Santos was widowed in 1973. She did not remarry.
The report added: "Now, she has 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and great great grandchildren."
