Blast of "unknown origin" came from vacant lot in Makati, investigation ongoing

Interaksyon.com reports that "an explosion of still unknown origin" took place on H.V. Dela Costa St. in Barangay Bel-Air at around 1:45 p.m. today, January 23. According to the report,  the police said there were no casualties. Police have cordoned off the area and are investigating the incident.

ANC, on the other hand, interviewed Makati Police chief Supt. Jaime Santos over the phone and he revealed that the explosion seemed to have come from "a vacant lot" in the area. As of press time, Santos said that they still cannot tell for sure what caused the explosion, though they have "gathered some fragments that were found within the area." The said fragments are still going to be examined by the crime laboratory.

Santos confirmed that there were no casualties, although the window of a car parked nearby got shattered. Some of the windows of a nearby building were also shattered. Santos maintained that there was "no cause for any alarm."
