WPTV.com reports that  Sophia Stockton-a student at Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas-found a packet of cocaine inserted in a textbook she bought from Amazon.com. According to the report, the book, Understanding Terrorism: Challenges, Perspectives and Issues, was for Stockton’s course on terrorism.

Stockton got the book on January 23 and was surprised when "a bag of white powder" fell out while she was flipping the pages. At first, she feared that the powder was "anthrax." She took it to the police on January 24. She was shocked when they told her the white powder wa actually cocaine.

The Huffington Post published a follow-up report on the same incident on Monday, January 30. In the report, it was revealed that Stockton had "reached out to Amazon.com" about the incident.  As of Thursday,  January 26, she had not yet heard back from the company. She does believe that the company is not to blame for her unusual find. She said, "I have ordered many times from Amazon and this is the first time I’ve seen anything like this. I don’t think that Amazon is at fault in this case. They can’t check every book that goes through their warehouse. I’m guessing that it (the cocaine) was just left in there by the previous owner of the book."

The report noted: "Authorities believe the cocaine may be worth up to $400." The investigation is still ongoing.
