SM’s Teresita Sy-Coson named one of "Asia’s Power Businesswomen" by Forbes magazine

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that Teresita Sy-Coson, vice-chairman of SM Investment Corp., landed on the cover of Forbes Asia’s March issue, which features its first-ever list of "Asia’s Power Businesswomen."

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that Teresita Sy-Coson, vice-chairman of SM Investment Corp., landed on the cover of Forbes Asia’s March issue, which features its first-ever list of "Asia’s Power Businesswomen." According to the report, Sy-Coson, daughter of retail tycoon Henry Sy, was the only Filipina included in the Forbes list of 50 most powerful businesswomen in the region.

 

The report noted: "The list was dominated by women from Greater China (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau) with 21, including Esquel Group’s Marjorie Yang, HTC co-founder and chairman Cher Wang; and Huawei Technologies chairman Sun Yafang. There were eight women from India, five from Singapore, four each from South Korea and Indonesia, three from Japan and two from Australia. There was one woman each from Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam." (Click this link to view the complete list.)

 

Forbes Asia also came up with a  "15 to Watch" list, which included Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng, the president of Summit Media Philippines and daughter of tycoon John Gokongwei. (Click this link to view the list.)
