UP student attacked by robbers in his Los Baños, Laguna apartment; He fought back and survived

Journal Online reports that Peter Cruz-an Associate in Arts program freshman at the University of the Philippines Open University in Los Baños, Laguna-was "attacked in his apartment at 11:50 p.m. last March 9 in Rhoda's Subdivision, Bgy. Anos in Los Baños, Laguna."

Journal Online, citing initial police reports, revealed: "Cruz caught two robbers inside his apartment. One of the suspects was already carrying the victim's laptop. The two suspects stabbed Cruz in the stomach and arms. However, Cruz got hold of a steel pipe and whacked his attackers. One of the suspects was hit in the head." The report went on to say that the two men retreated after that. As of Thursday, March 15, they were still at large.

 

Journal Online likewise pointed out that the attack on Cruz happened "on the same day that the third and last suspect in the holdup-slaying of UPLB student Ray Bernard Peñaranda, a man named Carl Cactil de Guzman was nabbed in his hideout in Bgy. Tagas in Daraga, Albay."
