Taguig teen killed by robbers over PlayStation

Manila Standard Today reports that 15-year-old Rowell Cruz-who was set to graduate this month from Signal Village High School-died after being shot by two motorcycle-riding robbers who tried to steal his PlayStation Portable (PSP) in Taguig City on on the evening of May 20.

Manila Standard Today reports that 15-year-old Rowell Cruz-who was set to graduate this month from Signal Village High School-died after being shot by two motorcycle-riding robbers who tried to steal his PlayStation Portable (PSP) in Taguig City on on the evening of March 20. The two men aboard a motorcycle came upon Cruz while he was playing with his PSP in front of his home on Ipil-Ipil Street, Barangay North Signal Village.

 

According to the victim’s brother, Reynald, he had heard Rowell shouting, "Kuya! Kuya!" Apparently, the two men shot Rowell once when they tried to take the PSP and then again as he ran into the house. The report quoted Taguig police chief Tomas Apolinario, who said the attackers left behind the PSP. As of Thursday, March 22, police revealed that they had recovered the motorcyle that was allegedly used in the shooting. They also had three suspects in custody.
