Air Philippines flight to Palawan "aborted" due to passengers’ bomb joke

InterAksyon.com reports that an Air Philippines (AirPhil) Express flight bound for Palawan was aborted because seven of its passengers "cracked a bomb joke." The report noted: "The plane was taxiing for takeoff at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 (NAIA 3) made a request to the control tower so that it could turn back."

NAIA 3 manager Bing Lina told ANC that "all 176 passengers were told to alight and transferred to the holding area as authorities mounted clearing operations to check for explosives on the plane." Lina added that the passengers who allegedly made the joke were being questioned by airport authorities.
