(UPDATE No. 2, 6:20 p.m., May 9) In today’s issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, a photo of President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III shaking the hand of a woman clad in a burka (or burqa) appears with this caption lead-in: "Security risk?"

In light of the existing tension between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the continuing complications involving the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), the caption lead-in may be taken as "leaning to the side of politically incorrect." At least that’s how some people at the newsstand put it.

The photo’s entire caption reads: "SECURITY RISK? President Aquino greets a Muslim woman wrapped in a burka and and niqab during the oath-taking of officers in charge of the ARMM Regional Legislative Assembly held in Malacañang on Tuesday [May 8]. The unidentified woman is reportedly a relative of one of the officers."

It has been revealed that the latter editions of the May 9, 2012 Philippine Daily Inquirer already have a different caption lead-in for the front page photo. Instead of "Security Risk?," the latter editions have "Palace Guest" as the photo’s caption lead-in.
