Pacquiao given divorce papers on eve of fight vs. Marquez, says Freddie Roach

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that world renowned Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao had been served divorce papers by his wife Jinkee on the eve of his fight with Mexico's Juan Manuel Marquez in November 2011. The report cited Pacquiao's boxing coach, Freddie Roach, in an interview by L.A. Times, as the source of the information. "All the distractions caught up to Manny in his last fight," Roach told L.A. Times.

The report cited Pacquiao's boxing coach, Freddie Roach, in an interview by L.A. Times, as the source of the information. "All the distractions caught up to Manny in his last fight," Roach reportedly told L.A. Times in explaining why Pacquiao struggled against Marquez.


The report also quoted Roach as saying that after the fight with Marquez, where Pacquiao pulled off a controversial victory via unanimous decision, the Filipino boxing hero decided to give up all his vices, which entailed closing his cockfighting farm, casino and nightclub.


Pacquiao is currently training for his WBO welterweight title defense against Timothy Bradley set on June 9.
