Iranian ambassador to PH robbed, crime happened in one of Manila’s exclusive gated communities

Agence France-Presse (AFP), via InterAksyon.com, reports that Alasghar Mohamadi, the Iranian ambassador to the Philippines, was robbed in his own home by a thief who struck while the diplomat was asleep on Saturday night, May 19."

The report noted that Mohamadi "was not even aware he had been robbed until the next day, Sunday, May 20."

 

 

The report quoted the police officer on the scene, Chief Inspector Adelaido Celario, who revealed that "the robber apparently climbed over the back wall of the exclusive gated community in Manila where the ambassador’s residence is located, then broke in through a backdoor." The robber then also took several watches, some cash, as well as the Mohamadi’s glasses.

 

The AFP report also quoted Mohamadi, who revealed that "the house has a security guard but he is only on duty in the daytime."
