1,544 jaywalkers nabbed in first week of MMDA’s intensified anti-jaywalking drive
Philstar.com reports that the anti-jaywalking personnel (called the "men-in-red" because of the bright red shirts they wear) of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) have "apprehended and issued pedestrian violation receipts (PVRs) to 1,544 jaywalkers in the first week of the agency’s drive against jaywalking."

MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino added that the MMDA is coordinating with the various local government units of Metro Manila to deploy personnel to help the agency's men-in-red.
