Director Mario O’ Hara, 68, passes away

Philstar.com reports that "award-winning Filipino film director Mario O’Hara, 68, died due to acute leukemia on Tuesday morning, June 26 at the San Juan de Dios hospital in Pasay City."

 

Philstar.com reports that "award-winning Filipino film director Mario O’Hara, 68, died due to acute leukemia on Tuesday morning, June 26 at the San Juan de Dios hospital in Pasay City." The report noted that O’Hara worked with another award-winning Filipino film director Lino Brocka in critically-acclaimed films 1974’s Tinimbang ka Ngunit Kulang ( as Brocka’s co-writer) and 1976’s Insiang (as story writer).

 

Among many other films, O’Hara directed 2010’s Ang Paglilitis Kay Andres Bonifacio, which was also submitted for the 2011 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival. Last year, he also worked with actress Nora Aunor in 2011 for the TV5 mini-series Sa Ngalan ng Ina.
