Senate considers relocation, UP Diliman is one of top picks

InterAksyon.com reports that "Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile has formed a committee to study alternative sites for the Senate." The report revealed that on Thursday, June 28, during the weekly Kapihan sa Senado, Senator Franklin Drilon told reporters that "one leading candidate" is the UP Diliman campus in Quezon City.

The report revealed that on Thursday, June 28, during the weekly Kapihan sa Senado, Senator Franklin Drilon told reporters that "one leading candidate" is  the UP Diliman campus in Quezon City.

 

The report noted that Drilon has been asked and authorized to lead the search committee for a viable site. However, he said that the relocation plan is "still in the preliminary stages."

 

The report also highlighted the fact that the Senate currently pays an annual rental of ₱110 million for the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) complex.
