Philippine Military Academy lowers height requirement to 5 feet

Artemio Dumlao of The Philippine Star reports that the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) "has lowered the height limit for both male and female cadets to only five feet to give more people the opportunity to enter the premier military institution in the country."

The report quoted PMA Superintendent Maj. Gen. Nonato Peralta Jr., who said, "It has been observed that during the Limited Physical Examination (LPE) during the previous PMA Entrance Examination (PMAEE), many are denied the chance to go through the first phase of the selection process, solely for the reason of not meeting the height requirement."

 

The report noted that the original height requirement was 5’4" for males and 5’2" for females.
