GMA News Online reports that "starting Thursday, July 12, the Makati City Hall will be a free Wi-Fi zone as part of the city government’s plan to make Makati the country’s first Wi-Fi city." The report noted that Mayor Jejomar Erwin "Junjun" Binay Jr. "plans to install free Wi-Fi in all the city’s 33 villages." The report also revealed that the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) will be the city's project partner and Internet service provider.
