InterAksyon.com reports that on Saturday, July 15, Eric Quizon revealed in an interview with GM-7’s Startalk that TV5 chairman Manny V. Pangilinan paid for Dolphy’s bill at the Makati Medical Center. The report noted that where Dolphy was treated at the said hospital for 31 days before he succumbed to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease on the evening of July 10. The report quoted Quizon, who said, "He took care of my dad's hospital bills. Thank you, Boss Manny."
The report also pointed out that Pangilinan is also the chairman of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, which owns and operates the Makati Medical Center through its affiliate, Medical Doctors, Inc. The report also revealed that TV5 management "continuted to pay Dolphy's salary throughout the remainder of his life despite being unable to work since November 2011."
