VIDEO: Lourd de Veyra, Jun Sabayton groove to "Call Me Maybe"
Lourd de Veyra, Jun Sabayton, and more jump on the Carly Rae Jepsen bandwagon.
(SPOT.ph) With a seemingly serious tone, Lourd de Veyra starts off his show with a discussion of web virality, the definition of "viral," and by giving samples of videos and links that spread like wildfire online.
Of course no discussion of the viral phenomenon would be complete without Carly Rae Jepsen’s LSS-inducing hit video "Call Me Maybe," the song that sparked many a cover. Other celebrities who’ve posted their rendition of the video include the "It" girls Georgina Wilson, Anne Curtis, Belle Daza, Solenn Heussaff, and friends; and basketball players from this UAAP season.
In a surprise turn of events, and not to be outdone, de Veyra and the entire Word of the Lourd team launched into a hilarious performance that included a "belly off," men (including Word of the Lourd director Jun Sabayton) in short shorts and wife-beaters gyrating to the beat, and cameos from other TV5 anchors such as Erwin Tulfo and Shawn Yao.
The video also, whose ragtag choreography mostly consisted of holding up fingers to their ears and mouthing "Call me maybe," also interspersed clips of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and former Chief Justice Renato Corona, as well as a soundbyte from Arroyo’s "Hello Garci" scandal.
