InterAksyon.com reports that New Bilibid Prison inmate Rolito Go-who was convicted for the death of college student Eldon Maguan whom he shot in a road rage incident in 1991-is now in the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP) after he  disappeared from jail on Tuesday night (August 14).

In a Thursday (August 16) press conference, PNP Chief Nicanor Bartolome revealed that "Go was abducted by four men inside the New Bilibid Prison" and that he was "placed inside a White Honda Civic with the plate number UUR-805." The report further quoted Bartolome, who also noted that "for some reason, Go’s kidnappers decided to release him in Tanauan, Batangas and give him pocket money as well for transportation." According to the report, "Go then tried to contact his relatives upon reaching Alabang, where he was met by the PNP."

The report pointed out that Bartolome indicated that "no ransom was paid for Go’s release." The report added that another media briefing will be held-perhaps to divulge more details about what allegedly happened to Go.
