ABS-CBNNews.com (citing Rocky Lo’s "Funfare" article) reports that actor Aga Muhlach-who is running for congressman of Camarines Sur in 2013 and was sworn in as a Liberal Party member on August 3-expressed his confidence in his qualifications to be an elected official during a press conference in New Jersey. When asked by the members of the Fililipin-American press about his political venture, Muhlach said, "Mas marami ang walang alam kaysa sa akin sa Kongreso at mas marami akong alam kaysa sa kanila sa totoo lang (There are a lot more people who know less than I do in Congress and I know a lot more than they do, truth be told."

Muhlach reportedly added that he was "inspired by President Benigno Aquino III’s ’good governance’ vowed that he will honestly serve the people of Camarines Sur." He then also "defended some of his showbiz colleagues who are running for next year’s election," citing Vilma Santos, Jinggoy Estrada, and Bong Revilla for their achievements.
