Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile confirms that there were plans to oust him from being Senate President

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that on Wednesday, September 12, Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile "confirmed there are indeed plans to oust him." The report quoted Enrile, who told reporter: "I got the information from a reliable source but I will not discuss that. There are always people who are unhappy with the leadership of anybody."

Enrile, however, did not name the person or people behind the plot to oust him. He adeed that he is ready to leave the position anytime. "Dahil napakabigat ng obligasyon ng Senate President. Hindi ka makapasyal eh (You have a lot of obligations when you’re Senate President. You can’t even go around to enjoy yourself anymore)."
