BEST IN SHOW: The UAAP Cheerdance Competition
Who brought it on at this year’s UAAP Cheerdance Competition?
(SPOT.ph) Ironically enough, it’s the annual UAAP Cheerdance Competition that generates the biggest turnout over any athletic collegiate event in the country. Here, cheerleaders don’t stand in the sidelines waving pom-poms for support. Instead they have their own fans and their own cheerleaders, even. Not only is the cheerdance competition a show of athleticism, it’s a dazzling spectacle of grace, creativity, spirit, and, of course, girls in short skirts.
This year was no different, with the eight UAAP teams outdancing and outpepping the competition with innovative stunts, fancy moves, and quirky props. The University of the Philippines emerged on top for the third year in a row with their freedom-themed minimalistic performance while the Far Eastern University’s jungle choreography bounced them back to second place. The National University came in third with a surprise superb performance.
Here in SPOT.ph, however, we believe everyone is a winner so, we came up with a list of CDC awards of our own. From best hair, best facial expression, best costume, we judged them all. Click the gallery below to discover the latest trends in cheerleading, plus our favorites:
