The Philippine News Agency (PNA), via InterAksyon.com, reports that "Boracay Island would likely hit its 2012 one million tourist arrivals target this month." The report cited information from Niven Maquirang, Aklan Jetty Port administrator, who revealed that "as of Friday morning, October 19, Boracay tourist arrival reached more than 970,000."

According to the report, Maquirang added that "by October 27, the resort island will be receiving around 2,500 Asian tourists who will arrive on board the Caribbean Cruise Ship." Maquirang added, "But with or without the cruise ship arrival, we would still be reaching the one million target before the end of October because of the anticipated semestral break and the long holidays brought about by Halloween."
