Crooner Victor Wood’s political ambitions will have to wait after he was included in a list of senatorial candidates disqualified by the Commission on Elections.

Sheila Crisostomo of the Philippine Star reports Wood, who filed his candidacy papers as a Kilusang Bagong Lipunan bet, was disqualified after the party disavowed him as its nominee. Likewise disqualified were KBL members Alma Abella, Melchor Chavez, Norma Nueva, and Wenceslao Pancho.

Daniel Magtira, who indicated in his certificate of candidacy that he was married to President Benigno Aquino III’s sister Kris, has also been disqualified and deemed a "nuisance" candidate.  Under the law, the Comelec can disqualify candidates who run to "put the election process in mockery or disrepute or to cause confusion among the voters."
