Court junks former COMELEC chair Benjamin Abalos’ motion to travel to Taiwan for "bangus fry" run, cites electoral sabotage case

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that on Thursday, November 8, "Pasay City Regional Trial Court Judge Jesus Mupas junked the motion of former Commission on Elections (COMELEC) chairman Benjamin Abalos Sr. to leave for Taiwan for a business trip this November." The report revealed that Abalos had wanted "to go to Taiwan to scout for a supply of bangus fry."

The report noted: "Mupas handles the electoral sabotage case file against former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, of which Abalos is a co-accused. The case is in connection with Arroyo’s alleged rigging of the results of the 2007 senatorial elections."
