U.S. President Barack Obama’s reelection could mean a revival of a bill to bring outsourced jobs back to the U.S., a move that could affect the Philippine Business Process Outsourcing sector.

Pots de Leon of InterAksyon.com reports U.S. Ambassador Harry Thomas Jr. hinted that the proposed Bring Jobs Home Act, which the U.S. Senate did not pass, could be revived in Obama’s second term.  "President Obama's job is the same as President Aquino's job, to provide job for the Americans, just as President Aquino's job is to provide jobs to the Filipinos," he reportedly said.

The Philippine BPO sector is expected to generate $13 billion in revenues, an industry group said in the report. The sector employs around 764,000 Filipinos, the report said.
