Scammers have been taking advantage of nurses looking for employment abroad by offering "coaching interviews" to prepare them for non-existent jobs in hospitals in Toronto, Canada.

InterAksyon.com reports the Department of Foreign Affairs has issued a warning against scammers sending e-mails that are supposedly from Shouldice Hospital in Ontario. Applicants are made to pay P3,888 for the "coaching interview" and a two-day seminar. According to the report, Shouldice Hospital has said "it has been represented illegitimately and falsely by an ’unidentified’ agency in the Philippines."

The Philippine Consulate General in Canada "advises recipients to be wary of such invitations, especially those that demand money from potential applicants," the report said.
