The Office of the President has cancelled parties scheduled for the holiday season as parts of Visayas and Mindanao struggle to recover from death and damage brought by Typhoon Pablo.

Jill Beltran of Sun.Star Online reports the Office of the Presidential Spokesperson (OPS), Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office (PCDSPO), and the Presidential Communication Operations Office (PCOO) have all cancelled their parties.

"How does one celebrate when you know that there is misery when people are missing? How can one celebrate and fully enjoy knowing that there are fellow brethren who have family members who cannot be found, cannot be accounted for?," Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda explained.

"We would like to give also donations. Instead of pouring our resources to a party, we’d like to use those resources for our assistance to the typhoon victims," he also said.
