It may be a wet Christmas: Pagasa warns a storm may be coming

A storm could enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility on December 23, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration.

Joseph Holandes Ubalde of InterAksyon reports a low pressure area may hover over the PAR on that day. The report quotes Pagasa forecaster Fernando Canda as saying "as of now it’s still over Micronesia. It’s still a cluster of clouds but chances are it will be an LPA."

Christmas is not necessarily ruined, though. The report says "even if it enters the PAR, it will not directly affect the country yet, although, if it does intensify, it would be the 17th storm to visit the country and will be called ’Quinta’."
