The Department of Tourism is preparing a surprise to welcome the 1 millionth South Korean to come to the Philippines.

Anjo Perez of the Manila Bulletin reports the Tourism department has been working with the Manila International Airport Authority and the Bureau of Immigrations in "special preparations at the airport for the expected arrival of the passenger from South Korea who will plane in aboard a Philippine Airlines flight from Seoul."

"The arrival marks a major milestone in the country's tourism industry as it reaches its target of the first one million tourists coming from a single market source," the report also said.

The winning passenger will be chosen electronically and the Immigrations computers have been programmed to buzz when the millionth South Korean tourist arrives. "Upon identification, officials from the DOT have prepared a very special and unforgettable welcome, including a surprise award, for the lucky passenger," the report said.

It is not clear whether the ceremony will include a flash mob dancing "Gangnam Style" at the lobby of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport but the possibility cannot be ruled out.
