A dog in Mexico who was mutilated by drug traffickers is back on its feet again after being fitted with prosthetic legs according to an Associated Press report over Sun.Star Online.

The dog, called Pay de Limon or Lemon Pie, can walk, jump, and run again according to Milagros Caninos dog sanctuary owner Patricia Ruiz. "(Pay de Limon) was left in a trash can to die after his two fronts legs were cut off. She says people who asked her to help Pay de Limon told her that drug traffickers used the dog to practice for mutilating humans," the report said.

Pay de Limon is just one of 128 abused dogs at the sanctuary. "Dogs on wheelchairs, blind, deaf or ill, frolic and run around the huge sanctuary in the southern part of Mexico City," the report said.
