UP Diliman explosion leaves 2 men hurt

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that two maintenance workers-identified as Faustino Valencia, 38, and Leonardo Natividad, 45-were wounded when "a device, believed to be a pillbox, exploded inside the University of the Philippines Diliman campus on Monday, January 28."

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that two maintenance workers-identified as Faustino Valencia, 38, and Leonardo Natividad, 45-were wounded when "a device, believed to be a pillbox, exploded inside the University of the Philippines Diliman campus on Monday, January 28."

 

According to the report, "the pillbox exploded near Palma Hall," where Valencia and Natividad were tasked to install lighting fixtures. The report explained that the men were "digging the soil where the explosive was planted." They were brought to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment.

 

The report added: "Initial investigation revealed that the pillbox was made of powder from pyrotechnic products. Bomb experts were brought in to conduct and investigation."
