DFA announces delay of ePassports issuance due to machine breakdown

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that on Tuesday, January 29, the Department of Foreign Affairs Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) issued a statement saying "there will be a delay of 2 to 3 days on the issuance of the electronic passports (ePassports) due on January 28 to February 2."

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that on Tuesday, January 29, the Department of Foreign Affairs Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) issued a statement saying that "there will be a delay of 2 to 3 days on the issuance of the electronic passports (ePassports) due on January 28 to February 2." The DFA cited "machine breakdown" as the cause.

 

The report noted: "Passport applicants affected by the delay are advised to call (632) 836-7745, (632) 836-7747 or e-mail DFA-OCA at passportconcerns@dfa.gov.ph. The DFA is also prepared to issue machine-readable passports on a limited basis in cases of extreme emergency."

 

The DFA expects operations to be back to normal by February 4.
