ABS-CBNNews.com reports that on Wednesday, January 30, "suspected members of the ’Donut Gang,’ a group that steals spare tires of parked vehicles, were involved in a shootout with a security guard of Robinsons Magnolia along Aurora Boulevard in Quezon City."

The report noted: "Initial reports said two suspects onboard a green Mitsubishi Adventure allegedly opened fire at the mall's security guard when they tried to escape from the mall's basement parking." According to information from the police, the guard allegedly called out the suspects and one of them fired a shot at him. The guard retaliated by shooting at the said suspect. The security guard was not injured in the incident.

The report revealed: "The suspects immediately escaped after engaging in a shootout, but had to abandon their vehicle due to a flat tire. Their vehicle and Alvarez's spare tire were recovered along N. Domingo and Valencia Street. The suspects, however, remain at large."
