Most Filipinos believe love "just comes" and cannot be planned or pursued, a Social Weather Stations survey suggests.
Ellalyn B. De Vera and JC Ruiz Bello of the Manila Bulletin report an SWS survey on love found "78 percent of Filipinos believe that love just comes to a person, as against 22 percent who said ’love is planned and pursued until one finds it.’" More women respondents said love just happens, 84 percent of female respondents, while only 72 percent of the men surveyed agreed that love cannot be planned.
The survey also found that 13 percent of respondents said they did not have love lives. Of those who are in relationships, 54 percent were happy with their love lives while 33 percent said things could be better.
If nothing else, the survey figures give people who are sad at being single something more than heartache on Valentine’s day: a headache.
