InterAksyon.com reports that twenty-six year-old Dexter Condez, a spokesperson for the Boracay Ati Tribal Organization (Bato), was shot by unidentified gunmen while he was on his way home from a meeting on Friday evening, February 22. InterAksyon.com said the crime was also reported by the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC).

InterAksyon.com noted: "Condez had been active in the struggle to reclaim the ancestral domain of the Ati, who are among the indigenous people on the island."
