Sultan of Sulu says he and his royal army will stay in Sabah despite unresolved territorial conflict

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that "Sultan Jamalul Kiram III said his followers holed up in Lahad Datu town in Sabah, Malaysia will not retreat and are ready to fight to the death."

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that "Sultan Jamalul Kiram III said his followers holed up in Lahad Datu town in Sabah, Malaysia will not retreat and are ready to fight to the death." Kiram and his followers are staking their claim on Sabah (formerly called North Borneo), which he points out rightfully belongs to the Sultanate of Sulu.

 

The report noted that Kiram said "he will not order his followers to surrender despite the exchange of fire that occurred between the royal army and Malaysian police authorities Friday morning, March 1."
