Reuters (via InterAksyon.com) reports that in Paris on Wednesday, April 10, one of the world’s most famous museums, the Louvre, was closed. Apparently, the musuem guards didn’t work for that day to protest the fact that "pickpockets were rampant at the world’s most visited museum." The Louvre is the home of the Mona Lisa and other notable works of art.

The report noted: "Two hundred museum guards exercised their right to a work stoppage, forcing the museum to shut its doors for the day, union representatives said." The report added that the guards were "’fed up’ by attacks and threats directed at them and visitors over the past few months by pickpockets."
