ABS-CBNNews.com reports that on Sunday, May 5, at a proclamation rally in Goa town near Naga City, Vice President Jejomar Binay "described his daughter, Nancy, as a victim of bad politics." He pointed out: "Kung anu-ano ang sinasabi sa anak ko. Para bang kasalanang mortal ang maging tatay niya ang vice president (A lot of things has been said about my daughter. It’s as if it’s a mortal sin that her father happens to be the vice president)."
Binay then went on to defend political dynasties, saying that "members of families who have been in politics for a long time must not be deprived of the chance to run for public office as long as they are willing and capable to serve."
