ABS-CBNNews.com reports that "after its unprecedented expansion of the two-day election liquor ban to five days in the name of orderly elections, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has imposed a ’money ban’ for the first time to prevent vote buying."
As such, cash withdrawals of more than ₱100,000 is not allowed from May 8 to May 13. The report added: "Aside from this, the Comelec is also banning the transport of more than ₱500,000 pesos in cash up to election day."
