Ron Gagalac of ABS-CBNNews.com reported that United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) senatorial candidate Mitos Magsaysay has conceded defeat at the polls. As of 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, the outgoing Zambales representative was in the 21st place in the senatorial race with around 4 million votes.
The article quoted Magsaysay, who said in a statement to her supporters: "The journey does not stop here. The Philippines has a long way to go and we need to be united in meeting the challenges that regular Filipinos have to deal with - low wages, education, lack of employment, inflation - these are the issues that matter and these are the issues that must be addressed."
