ABS-CBNNews.com reports that the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) is gearing to fight the passage of the "death bills" it expects some lawmakers to re-file in Congress-hopefully with the help of the "pro-life" legislators who are against the controversial Reproductive Health (RH) Law.
The report quoted CBCP Episcopal Commission on Family and Life chairman and Antipolo Bishop Gabriel Reyes as telling Radio Veritas that "there is a need to intensify the campaign against the supposedly anti-family bills... such as the divorce, same-sex marriage, euthanasia, abortion, and total reproductive health bills." Reyes called these proposed legislations as the "death bills."
Aside from expressing hope that "the pro-life senators who made it in the May polls will prevent the passage of the bills," the bishop also said he wishes the members of the next Congress will repeal the RH law.
