Former U.S. President Bill Clinton gets $500,000 fee to deliver a speech in Israel

The Xinhua News Agency reports via InterAksyon.com that Former United States president Bill Clinton has been paid US$500,000 to give a 45-minute speech at an event to be held in honor of Israeli President Shimon Peres.

 

According to the report, "Clinton is scheduled to visit Israel on June 18 for the fifth annual Presidential Conference, to be attended by international political leaders, thinkers, and artists." He was invited to speak on the topic of sustainability by the Peres Academic Center in the city of Rehovot, northern Israel. The Jewish National Fund (JNF), a quasi-governmental body that "owns 13 percent of the total land in Israel," was said to have "co-sponsored" Clinton's trip.
