InterAksyon.com's Romsanne Ortiguero reports that over 1,500 volunteers gathered at EDSA on May 26 to paint what could possibly be the world's longest peace mural.
Â
According to the report, Lakbay para sa Kapayapaan sa EDSA or A Journey of Peace in EDSA is a series of peace mural painting activities aimed at expressing "a unified clamor for peace across the country through painting a 3.8 kilometer wall in EDSA."  The EDSA peace mural hopes to beat "Chile's first Guinness record attempt in 2009 for the longest peace mural in the world." The activity was organized by the Asia America Initiative (AAI) in collaboration with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP), Dolphins Love Freedom Movement, and Metro Manila Development of Development (MMDA).
Â
According to the Journey of Peace in Edsa Facebook page, the painting of the peace mural along Edsa will continue on June 8 and June 15.
