RH law oral arguments moved to July 9

ABS-CBN correspondent Ina Reformina reports that the Supreme Court (SC) has moved the schedule for the oral arguments on the petitions filed questioning the constitutionality of the Reproductive Health Law from June 18 to July 9.

The report explained that the schedule of the oral arguments was changed because the SC allowed the new petitions and motions for reconsideration filed by "former health secretaries, Sen. Pia Cayetano, Rep. Edcel Lagman, and several others" to be included in the case. The petitioners against the law otherwise known as Republic Act 10354 contend that "the controversial law violates the ideals of an unconditional respect for life enshrined in the 1987 Constitution."
