Hero dog Kabang back in Zamboanga

Reuters reports via ABS-CBNNews.com that the hero dog Kabang is back in her hometown of Zamboanga City after spending eight months in the US for reconstructive surgery.

According to the report, "Kabang was "welcomed by the mayor and a motorcade with yellow balloons" when she arrived in Zamboanga City on Monday. The dog "earned worldwide recognition after losing half her face while saving two girls from getting hit by a motorcycle." Her story caught the attention of pet lovers worldwide who donated money so she could be sent to the US to undergo surgery to close her wounds. The report added that "donors have ensured a lifetime’s supply of medicines and food for Kabang."
