Doctors want e-cigarettes banned until they’re proven safe

InterAksyon.com's Jet Villa reports that the Philippine Pediatric Society (PPS) has asked the government to ban the sales of electronic cigarettes "until a proper study can be done on the devices' short- and long-term health effects."

 

The report quoted PPS' Dr. Ramon Severino as saying in a forum on Friday that no one knows at present if e-cigarettes can be bad for health. He revealed that even minors are able to buy e-cigarettes because the device is "not covered by Republic Act 9211, or the Tobacco Regulations Act."
