Matikas Santos of Inquirer.net reports that a search is now underway to determine which high school team will defend the Philippines' title in the upcoming World Robotics Olympiad (WRO) this November.
Â
The report explained that the 12th Philippine Robotics Olympiad (PRO) was launched on June 21 "in order to choose who will represent the country for the WRO this year." Felta Multi Media Inc., the organizer of the PRO, said in a statement during the launch that the winners of the national competition "will represent the Philippines in the WRO 2013 to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 15-17 2013."
Â
Last year, two Philippine teams bagged the top awards in the WRO's high school category. The first prize went to a team from Dr Yangas Colleges Inc. while a team from Grace Christian College won second place.
