Tarsier found at a Forbes Park golf course, dies while in the care of Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau

News5 correspondent Maricel Halili (via InterAksyon.com) reports that a tarsier found within the premises of Forbes Park's Manila Golf and Country Club died on Wednesday, June 26, a day before its supposed flight to Bohol.

The report quoted Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau (PAWB) Director Theresa Mundita Lim as saying that the tarsier "had a 'big appetite' and looked active until its death." The primate had just been turned over to PAWB a few days ago after it was spotted by some caddies and golfers in the country club.

Lim said she had hoped that the tarsier would survive and reach Bohol, "where it was supposed to be kept in a semi-captive environment and later on reintroduced to the wild."
